Lumina is pleased to announce the UKTV appointment of Jon Stanley to the Head of Distribution position. He joined the BBC Studios-owned broadcaster recently and will lead the Pay TV broadcaster’s carriage negotiations with major partners including Sky and Virgin Media.
Jon joined the broadcaster from BT, where he was their Head of Content Partnerships. He was responsible for commercial negotiations for BT TV, plus additional offerings across the BT and EE portfolio, securing deals with the likes of Discovery, Warner Bros and Fox Networks Group (now Disney) – covering both linear channels and VOD platforms. He’s also worked with A+E Networks and UKTV during his time at Sky. Prior to this, Jon started his career at leading TMT consultancy 3Vision.
UKTV is a leading broadcaster with seven distinct brands – Dave, Gold, W, Drama, Alibi, Eden and Yesterday. It’s channels are available on major platforms in the UK – Freeview, Freesat, Sky, Virgin Media, BT, TalkTalk – plus it consumers a large catalogue of content through its UKTV Play VOD platform. In recent years, it has committed to expanding its original content which has already developed some of the UK’s best-loved TV shows including Taskmaster, Emma Willis: Delivering Babies, We Hunt Together and Traces.
