Lumina Search is pleased to announce our recently completed search on behalf of Studiocanal’s RED Production Company. Sarah Doole will join RED as their CEO and continue to build the business. Sarah will lead RED’s development and production slate while working with the wider Studiocanal group to grow the international reach.
Sarah was most recently Director of Global Drama at Fremantle. She joined the super indie in 2013 and re-establish their drama slate for TV’s modern era, including hits like My Brilliant Friend, The Salisbury Poisonings and the Deutschland Trilogy. Previously, she served at BBC Worldwide as their Creative Director and Head of Indie Drama. Earlier in the year, Sarah founded Sow the Seed, an enterprise focused on supporting under-represented voices and bringing their stories to the market. She’s committed to seeking out exceptional talent and giving them a platform to shine.
RED was founded in Manchester by Nicola Shindler and embodies a unique style that became popular with many UK broadcasters, winning commissions from BBC, ITV, UKTV and Netflix. Recent hits have included The Stranger, Traces, Years and Years, Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax. Studiocanal acquired a majority stake in 2013.
